VooDoo Chicken

Ingredients

  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 4 bay leaves
  • 1 teaspoon file powder
  • 1 teaspoon oregano
  • 1 teaspoon dried onion
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon cayenne pepper
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon ground thyme
  • 2 pounds boneless skinless chicken thighs
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon red pepper flakes
  • 3 tablespoons minced garlic
  • 2 15-ounce cans tomato sauce
  • Hot cooked white rice

Directions

  1. Add red pepper flakes, olive oil, and garlic in large sauce pan and simmer for 5 minutes.
  2. Combine remaining ingredients, (except rice) heat until hot, then add to crockpot with chicken and cook on low for 6 hours.
  3. Remove bay leaves, and serve with hot cooked white rice and garlic bread.
