Easy Marinara Sauce
Ingredients
2 14.5 ounce cans tomatoes
1/4 cup olive oil
1/2 cup onion, diced
2 tablespoon garlic
1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes
1/2 teaspoon oregano
1 teaspoon kosher salt
1/2 teaspoon basil
Directions
Pour tomatoes into a bowl, and crush them with a large spoon or a potato masher.
Heat olive oil in a large pan on medium heat. Add onion and cook until softened, about 8 minutes, then add garlic and cook for about 3 minutes, stirring frequently so it doesn’t burn.
Add the tomatoes you crushed, then stir in red pepper flakes, oregano and salt and basil. Simmer for 15 minutes. Makes about three cups.
