Smashed Potatoes


  • 8 small red potatoes
  • 1/2 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1/4 cup butter, melted
  • 3/4 teaspoon garlic salt
  • 3/4 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon pepper


  1. Preheat oven to 450° F.
  2. Wash potatoes, cut bigger potatoes in half, and then boil in a pot of salted water for 15-20 minutes until almost done. Drain.
  3. Put aluminum foil on a cookie sheet, brush with the olive oil, then using a potato masher or spatula, smash each potato onto the cookie sheet.
  4. In a small bowl, combine garlic salt, garlic powder, and pepper, set aside.
  5. Brush potatoes with melted butter, then evenly sprinkle the combined seasonings on top of the potatoes.
  6. Bake at 450° F for 10-15 minutes until potatoes are slightly crispy on the edges.
