White Rice

All my life I learned to cook rice with a water to rice ratio of 2:1, until this recipe.  To get the consistency of Asian rice like you get in a restaurant, this recipe is the way to go.


  • 2 1/2 cups water
  • 2 cups rinsed long grain rice


  1. Rinse your rice.  Once rinsed, add rice to saucepan with water.
  2. Bring to a boil, then cover and reduce heat to low, simmering 20 minutes, without removing lid.
  3. After an additional 5 minutes, open lid and fluff with a fork.
