VooDoo Chicken
Ingredients
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 4 bay leaves
- 1 teaspoon file powder
- 1 teaspoon oregano
- 1 teaspoon dried onion
- 1 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 teaspoon cayenne pepper
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon ground thyme
- 2 pounds boneless skinless chicken thighs
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 teaspoon red pepper flakes
- 3 tablespoons minced garlic
- 2 15-ounce cans tomato sauce
- Hot cooked white rice
Directions
- Add red pepper flakes, olive oil, and garlic in large sauce pan and simmer for 5 minutes.
- Combine remaining ingredients, (except rice) heat until hot, then add to crockpot with chicken and cook on low for 6 hours.
- Remove bay leaves, and serve with hot cooked white rice and garlic bread.
